Working From Home – Remote Implementation of ISO 9001

Working from home?  There is no need to wait to implement ISO 9001.  Now that many of us are currently working from home, the whole process can be managed remotely.   Meetings can be set up through MSTeams, documents can be exchanged through Dropbox or Google Docs, updating and reviewing communications can be confirmed via email.  Site visits, if necessary, can be performed using Facetime. There is nothing to stop you building an ISO 9001 Management System remotely. Everybody who needs to be involved can be included via MSTeams or equivalent.  If you are concerned that parts of your business processes could be “hidden in drawers”, proper buy-in from your staff should minimize the chances of this occurring.  Indeed, there is a much greater tendency to work digitally, which provides a lot less opportunity to hide things away. Of course, only physical audits will expose those determined to subvert the system, but hopefully it will not be too long before these become the norm again.
